STORY BEHIND THE IMAGE | ||||
|
|
Ramona Falls is formed by a small creek tumbling over a mossy cliff of columnar
basalt in the Mount Hood Wilderness. What was once a relatively short hike has
been lengthened by an additional two miles due to winter floods washing out part of the access
road to the trailhead. The best exposure strategy here is to base medium tone on the mossy green
rocks to the left. Metering off the white water or black rocks would be very difficult. This
shot only works on an overcast day with soft, even light. Hotspots from a
sunny day would ruin this composition.
